Dear Haverim,

It’s hard to believe that twelve and a half years ago we moved to Anshai Torah so I could become the assistant rabbi of this great congregation. At that time, Nadav didn’t even walk. He was just one year old. And now, almost thirteen years later, we just celebrated his Bar Mitzvah with our community.

I’m incredibly honored to be the senior rabbi of our congregation. Never in my wildest dreams, when we moved here all those years ago, did I imagine that this is where our life would lead us. It is this amazing congregation, each and every one of you, that encouraged us to stay and make this our home.

Soon we will come together to celebrate my installation. It is a chance to look back at the success of Anshai Torah throughout its history and to look forward to its future and the many wonderful things we will accomplish together. Please take a moment to set aside the weekend of December 12th and 13th.

On Friday night, join us for the installation ceremony. It will be meaningful and moving and a great opportunity to reflect on the success and future of our congregation together. And then the next night, thanks to the incredible committee led by Ashley Acks and Kim Velevis, we will gather for a night of pure fun, a nineties themed Bar Mitzvah celebration honoring all that Anshai Torah has meant to each of us.

I could not be more honored to serve as your rabbi for years to come. I look forward to a weekend filled with meaning and joy and to sharing many wonderful opportunities with you and your family as part of our Anshai Torah family.

Shalom,

Rabbi Michael J. Kushnick
