Rabbi Stefan J. Weinberg
Ordained in 1984, Rabbi Stefan J. Weinberg has spent his entire career in Dallas, TX with the exception of two years in Florida. In 1998, he established Congregation Anshai Torah and continues to lead this thriving congregation today.
Congregation Anshai Torah serves the northern sector of the Dallas metroplex and is home to over 550 families. Distinguished by its connection to Israel, its outstanding men’s a capella ensemble, and its dedication to educating its youth, the congregation is a source of pride for many.
Rabbi Weinberg holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor of Hebrew Literature from the University of Judaism, a Master of Hebrew Literature from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in NYC, NY, as well as his rabbinic ordination from JTS.
Rabbi Weinberg has served the metroplex as President of the Rabbinic Association of Greater Dallas in addition to sitting on many boards thoughout his career, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas, The Legacy at Willow Bend, Hebrew Free Loan Society, and The Ann and Nate Levine Academy (Solomon Schechter Academy). He was co-founder of the Dallas Jewish Coalition of the Homeless and has also served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Southwest Region of the Rabbinical Assembly, Chairman of the Vaad HaKashrut in Palm Beach, Fl, and Chaplain at the Morse Geriatric Center in Palm Beach, Fl.
He and his wife Wende z”l are the proud parents of three daughters—Adina, who lives in Dallas, Jordana, who lives in Colorado, and Danielle Zubery, who lives in Israel. Danielle and her husband Gilad provided Rabbi a grandson -- Ariel Zev – in 2017, making him a very proud and happy grandpa!
